Purpose: To expose students to conducting business in other culture.

Semester: Summer B 2009

Abroad Dates: June 24 - July 6, 2009

On campus meeting Dates: First mandatory meeting on June 6th, 2009 from 12noon to 3pm. Location TBA.

Scholarships: Office of Education Abroads offers $300 - $500 need-based scholarships. Click here to apply. (deadline April 1st, 2009)

Panorama Travel: Panorama Travel offers two Global Leadership Scholarships of $500. To apply, please fill out the Application Form and submit to CIBER. (deadline April 13th, 2009)

Panorama Travel Scholarship requirements:
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Admitted to the College of Business Administration
  • Community Service or Volunteer Work a Plus.
  • Should be enrolled in the Study Abroad program to apply for scholarships.

Financial Aid: 

Financial Aid is available for Study Abroad programs. To add loans to your award or increase loan amounts, you need to contact Sanya Checo at Sanya.Checo@fiu.edu or call 305-348-7272. This is not an automatic process. Click here for more information.

Places to be Visited: Rome, Sicily, Athens, Ephesus & Crete. The group will fly to Rome and take Eastern Mediterranean Cruise to visit other places.

Tentative Itinerary:
June 24: Depart Miami to Rome
June 25: Arrive in Rome and transferred to hotel
June 26: Lectures & Business visits
June 27: Lectures & Cultural visits.
June 28: board the "Navigator of the Seas" cruise

June 29: Sicily (Italy)
June 30: Cruising - Lectures
July 1 : Athens (Greece) - Business & Cultural visits
July 2: Ephesus (Turkey) - Business & Cultural visits
July 3: Heraklion (Crete)
July 4: Cruising - Lectures
July 5: Arrive in Rome
July 6: Depart Rome to Miami

Program Cost: $2895 + Flat Instructional Fee ($360 per course for both in-state & out-of state students) + $175 Study Abroad Fees (includes Travel Insurance)
(Program cost includes Air-fare, Cruise, accommodations, local transportation, business & cultural visits and some meals)

Travel Insurance : $175 Study Abroad Fees charged by Office of Education Abroad includes your Travel Insurance.
                           Please make a separate check for $175 drawn in favor of FIU and submit along with your application.
